IND vs AUS 2nd Test: 3 Indian Players From 1st Test Who Might Be Benched In The 2nd Test
KL Rahul
KL Rahul scored just 20 in the Test match with India batting just once, He did not have good batting form and as a result, just scored 20 in the first innings. He scored 20 off as many as 71 deliveries in the first innings and seemed in trouble against the Australian spinners. Various former Indian cricketers did not support the call to add Rahul into the playing XI instead of an in-form Shubman Gill. Given that he had a forgetful outing in the first Test, He might see himself benched in the second Test.
Suryakumar Yadav
SKY did not have a memorable Test debut as he was dismissed for just 8 off 20 balls. Surya headed into this Test match with ominous form in T20I cricket. He was the highest scorer in T20Is in 2022. The absence of Rishabh Pant meant that SKY was seen as his like for like replacement to speed up the scoring rate batting at number five. However, as it turned out, he was castled by Nathan Lyon. If the management feels, they might replace him with Ishan Kishan who is in the squad as a backup keeper. Kishan can play as a specialist batter at number five.
Mohammed Siraj
The second Test will be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi which is more conducive to spinners. Thus if the management thinks, they can bench, Siraj and add Kuldeep Yadav into the mix and tend to go in with four spinners. However, given how Siraj performed in the first Test, it might be a tough call to make for the management.
