Indian Cricket Team started the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in a grand fashion. The hosts won the 1st Test match by an innings & 131 runs and wrapped up the match inside 3 days. The Australian batters were quite aggressive in the 2nd innings on a tricky surface which hurt them.
The likes of Steven Smith & David Warner must bat deep & guide the batting unit as the rest of the batting line is quite inexperienced in Indian conditions. All eyes would be on Usman Khawaja as he is someone who could play long innings for the team and can toil the bowlers.

Vishakhapatnam to host 3rd Test Test Match
BCCI has shortlisted: Vishakhapatnam, Rajkot, Indore & Pune for the 3rd Test match between India & Australia. BCCI hasn’t revealed the reason behind the change of venue as earlier Dharamsala was the host. Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) official made interesting comments when asked about hosting the 3rd Test match.
“Though we are yet to be contacted by the BCCI, we will be honored if we are asked to host the Test match. We are ready to make all arrangements on a grand note. Already the stadium is being decked up for the India -Australia One Day International (ODI) match scheduled on March 19,”. said the official.
Steep Road Ahead for Australia
Vishakhapatnam has hosted 2 Test matches, the first one was in 2016 against England & second one in 2019 against South Africa. In both these Test Matches, the Men in Blue had thrashed the opposition team. It would be interesting to see how the things turn out as the 3rd Test match would be quite pivotal.
Australia hasn’t lost a single Test Series since the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The visitors should take session by session as we have often heard, the team which wins sessions wins the Test match. Head Coach Andrew McDonald & Skipper Pat Cummins should not apply defensive tactics as we witnessed that how Aussies gave easy singles.
