Aiden Markram, a South African batter, has indicated that he would like to lead SunRisers Hyderabad in the 2019 Indian Premier League season. The middle-order batsman led his team Sunrisers Eastern Cape to victory in the inaugural SA20 tournament by smashing a roaring century against JoBurg Super Kings in the semifinals.
Markram stated that he is ok with serving as captain and feels at ease in a leadership position during a press conference on the sidelines of the competition.

With a match-winning century in the last-four encounter against Johannesburg Super Kings on Thursday in Centurion, the 28-year-old Markram stamped his claim by guiding Sunrisers Eastern Cape into the inaugural SA20 final.
Before being sacked, Mayank served as Punjab Kings’ captain for an unsuccessful period of time. On the other hand, Markram has demonstrated his leadership abilities by effectively managing the South African team for the IPL franchise.

“I have been captaining for a while”: Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram replied in the affirmative when asked if he would be interested in captaining the team in the prestigious Indian Premier League.
“What’s going to happen, to be honest… either way we back the management’s decision about who they want to be in charge, “ Aiden Markram said.
“Becoming the captain is not the be-all and end-all. You can be in some form of leadership role too. But I am okay with captaincy, it’s something that I enjoy doing,” he said ahead of the SA20 final against Pretoria Capitals.
“I have been captaining for a while before this tournament started. It’s been a nice experience, a fresh start, I would say, “ Aiden Markram added.
The South African batsman Markram had a strike rate of 139.5 last season while scoring 381 runs in 14 games. His inexperience in managing a team in the IPL is the one thing that could work against him.
The Pretoria Capitals’ Wayne Parnell, who faces Markram in the championship game, is unsure whether he will play due to a groin strain, while Markram is entering the match after a stunning century.
