Australian Cricket Team got a reality check in the 1st Test match against India. The visitors were bundled out for a mere 91 runs in 32.3 overs and lost the match by an innings & 131 runs. David Warner, the dashing left-handed batter had a terrible outing and it looked as if the batter wasn’t ready for the steep challenge.

Ravichandran Ashwin dominated the terms as he took his 31st five-wicket haul and got ample support from Ravindra Jadeja. The duo took 15 wickets out of 20 where they spurned a web. Skipper Rohit Sharma gave long spells to the spinners and his field placements were spot on.

Mark Waugh on David Warner

Mark Waugh was having an interaction with Wide World of Sports and was asked whether Warner deserves a chance.

“David Warner has been around long enough, and I know he’s had plenty of opportunities, but I think you’ve got to give him at least the next Test match to get it right.” said Mark Waugh

Steep Road Ahead for David Warner

As mentioned by Mark Waugh, Warner has played a lot of cricket. We should not forget that this is his 3rd Test tour of India but he hasn’t been able to stamp his authority in India. The batter perhaps should play his natural game rather than getting into the shell as he is someone who can take the game away from opposition in couple of overs time.

Head Coach Andrew McDonald needs to have some serious conversations with the batting unit as the batters were quite keen on playing shots on a tricky surface. We witnessed how Ravindra Jadeja & Axar Patel smashed half-centuries where they first got their eye in and then played their shots. The visitors need a helluva of effort to make a comeback as Indian Cricket team doesn’t have any significant weakness.
