You can customize this smoothie based on your taste and what you have on hand. Here are the ingredients in this yogurt smoothie:

  • Greek yogurt: This smoothie stars Greek yogurt, which lends creamy texture and loads of protein! It’s also got live probiotics, great for gut health.
  • Frozen strawberries: Frozen berries make just the right icy texture. You can use any type of berry: we used strawberry here.
  • Frozen mango: Pair your berries with a sweeter fruit to get just the right flavor! You can also use frozen pineapple or peaches to bring in this sweet element.
  • Banana: The banana helps to make a creamy texture and adds the final sweetness.
  • Milk: Milk helps it all blend!
  • Ice: Ice gives it a little fluffy frothiness.
  • Fresh lemon juice: The kicker? Lemon juice amps all the flavors just enough.

Yogurt smoothie

Makes 2 smoothies or 1 very large one!

This recipe makes enough for 2 small yogurt smoothies, which each have about 20% of your daily protein. Or you can load up the protein even more and drink the entire smoothie as one serving! Eating the smoothie as one serving gives you about 40% of your daily protein. That’s a healthy meal, right there!

Flavor variations!

This yogurt smoothie tastes fantastic as is. But if you’d like, you can add some nuance in flavor. Here are a few more add ins we’d suggest:

  • Almond or cashew butter. Want to pack in even more protein? Add nut butter for an even more filling snack. The flavors of cashew or almond go well here.
  • Mint or basil. Add a few fresh mint or basil leaves for an herbaceous spin.
  • Ginger. Add ½ teaspoon grated ginger to the mix for a spicy brightness.
  • Coconut. Throw in a handful of coconut (or toasted coconut).
  • Vanilla. Use ¼ to ½ teaspoon vanilla to add complexity.
  • Cinnamon. Add ¼ teaspoon cinnamon for a unique variation.

Can you store this yogurt smoothie?

Smoothies are best eaten immediately. This peach smoothie lasts 1 day refrigerated, stored in a sealed container or a mason jar with the lid on. It may separate, which is perfectly natural. Just shake it up and you’re good to go! After 1 day, it starts to lose flavor: so we don’t recommend storing for longer. Storing smoothies is helpful for breakfasts on the go: mix it up the night before, then grab it in the morning.

This yogurt smoothie recipe is…

Vegetarian and gluten-free.

  1. Can you send me a smoothie without bananas because I’m allergic to them but I’m not a avocado fan please help

    1. In this smoothie recipe, you can remove the banana — simply add another 1/2 cup each strawberries and mango and then add about 1/4 cup more yogurt. Adjust with more liquid if you need to. Good luck!
