Like any popular drink, it’s got endless variations. The blueberry version simply uses fresh berries that are muddled right into the drink. The ingredients in a blueberry Mojito are:

How to make a blueberry Mojito

The only cocktail skill you’ll need for a Blueberry Mojito? Muddling. Muddling is gently mashing herbs or fruits to release their juices. You’ll do this first with the mint, and then the blueberries, to add their flavors to the drink. Here’s what to do:

  • Muddle the mint, then the blueberries. Muddling the mint first is easiest, and helps to release the oils before adding liquid of the blueberries. You can mash the blueberries pretty firmly, until they’re uniformly smashed. You can do this right in the cocktail shaker, with a cocktail muddler or wooden spoon.
  • Shake all ingredients with ice. Add the liquids to the cocktail shaker and two handfuls of ice. Shake until cold!
  • Strain the drink into a glass. Here’s how to step up the presentation…

Garnishing the drink

A Mojito is all about presentation. How to step up this Blueberry Mojito? We have a few ideas on how to highlight the beautiful color of this drink:

  • Use clear ice. Clear ice is crucial when it comes to great cocktails. It’s crystal clear ice you can cut into organic shapes. It makes the drink look like it’s from a fancy bar, and also helps to fill the glass. Go to How to Make Clear Ice.
  • Add a mint sprig, lime wedges, and blueberries. If you’re using clear ice cubes, you can wedge them in between the ice cubes to make a nice distribution.
  • Add a colorful straw! Because what’s more fun?
