Like any popular drink, it’s got endless variations. The blueberry version simply uses fresh berries that are muddled right into the drink. The ingredients in a blueberry Mojito are:
- Fresh mint
- Blueberries
- Lime juice
- White rum
- Simple syrup
- Soda water
How to make a blueberry Mojito
The only cocktail skill you’ll need for a Blueberry Mojito? Muddling. Muddling is gently mashing herbs or fruits to release their juices. You’ll do this first with the mint, and then the blueberries, to add their flavors to the drink. Here’s what to do:

You can mash the blueberries pretty firmly, until they’re uniformly smashed. You can do this right in the cocktail shaker, with a cocktail muddler or wooden spoon.

Ingredients
- 6 mint leaves, plus additional for garnish
- ¼ cup blueberries
- 2 ounces* white rum
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 2 to 4 ounces soda water
- Ice, for serving (try clear ice!)
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the mint leaves. Add the blueberries and muddle again until fully smashed. Add the rum, lime juice and simple syrup and fill the cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until cold.
- Place ice into a glass, and strain in the liquid. Top off the glass with soda water. Garnish with additional mint leaves, lime wedges, and blueberries.
